I don't mind cooking with alcohol, but what would I do with the rest of it? Besides, it would be just my luck to go buy a bottle of Makers Mark and someone from my church would see me walking around with it. I'd have some explainin' to do. It can only be officially called Derby Pie if it's their product, so anyone else can only sell it under another name. So, there's your trademark law lesson for the day! ;)

I always add a splash of Makers Mark when baking anything chocolate (yes, even boxed brownie mix), and like to make a bourbon whipped cream when I bake a Derby Pie at home. It just hit met that Woodford Reserve might be a good alternative in this recipe, as it has such a vanilla note anyway...Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13237110872469402726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5588048192582431507.post-88732255290134970632010-06-20T20:35:24.838-04:002010-06-20T20:35:24.838-04:00Happy Father's day to your husband, and that p...Happy Father's day to your husband, and that pie looks amazing
oxxo
SCBeth Dunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14831271413506252133noreply@blogger.com
