Target / Neiman Marcus - Hmmmm....

We just happened to be at Target on Saturday and had the chance to see all the new Target / Neiman Marcus collaboration products.  I'll admit, I've not been the first to run out and scoop up all these designer collaboration products in the past.  If I'm there, I'll look, but I haven't made any special trips.  I don't think I've actually purchased anything from any of the designers.   I sometimes feel like they are knocking off themselves (I could be crazy for thinking this).  And I'm not going to wear something just because of it's name, especially if I look silly, no  matter how cheap or expensive it might be.

Anyways, I was overall pleased with the collection.  They have some really cute items and I love the variety of home, accessories and clothing.  But, there were a couple that had me thinking "what is that?"

Case in point....
Granted, this is a child's hat by Skaist-Taylor (and I'm sure it's adorable on a kid.  Lallie wouldn't put it on).  But who says I can't be silly and take self-portraits in Target? :-)  No, I didn't buy this hat though it would be great for a Tina Turner type Halloween costume.  Heehee.  (insert singing of What's Love Got to Do with It?)
Am I right???

Here are some of the items I thought were on the cute side.

Other items I found very cute were the little girl's dresses.  They were adorable!
Marchesca Girls' Beaded dress $99.99.  SO classy, I love it!  Lallie would look adorable in this dress.  LOVE this dress!
Jason Wu dress for girls $59.99.

This one is on the list: "Who would wear that?"  I don't know anyone personally.  Of course, I don't know any celebrities or runway models who could get away with wearing this while looking glamorous.  I did take another self-portrait of me wearing this but I was trying to look like one of those glamorous people with a cute pouty face and well....it didn't turn out well.
Skaist-Taylor vest $79.99.
What did y'all think of the collection?

Happy Tuesday Y'all!

  1. I'm curious how many looks you got while walking around Target photographing the merchandice :-)

    2. It's OK. I can own that. It doesn't happen very often!

  2. Some of the items were nice, but others were not. I was really excited to see the Tory Burch lunchbox/water bottle, but seeing them in store (and the price for that matter) didn't thrill me. I didn't think they were that nice. There was nothing that screamed at me, although I did like the navy blue blazer and the bike, but I didn't buy either. Another of the "What were they thinking" items for me was the set of cookie cutters. Why would one need designer cookie cuttes?

    1. I think I agree with you more...I was being nice in my post. I thought the EXACT same thing on the cookie cutters. The ones in the dollar section are more enticing and will work just as well!

  3. I saw these items yesterday at Tarjay as well. The girls dresses were so cute and I loved the bike, but I found the rest out of place and just sort of odd.

  4. I'm loving those little girl's dresses, but that hat is crazy! And I don't know if I'd pay that much for most of those items!

  5. I really loved the Tory Burch lunch box, I was planning on using it as a travel makeup case. However seeing it in store, it just felt cheap and well, made for Target. I find the idea of designer collaborations bittersweet.

  6. I kinda thought the items were still too pricey! And still target quality... :( Checkout my gift guide of the week: For the Co-workers!

  7. It felt weird to me to have such expensive stuff in Target! I did think the little girls' dresses were so cute though... if only they made them in big girl sizes :)

  8. I have never bought any of the designer stuff. By the time I get around to remembering it is gone. Though I didn't see anything I wanted at all this time.

  9. I really really wanted the elephant travel bag and the nautical blazer but both were overpriced (in my opinion). I debated getting the blazer because I think it would be a good investment piece. BUT I think the quality is probably not great and I might as well get a $100+ J.Crew blazer for that price
