Wedding Update

No, not mine.  I'm already happily married to Husband.  This is Ashleigh's wedding, you know my best friend and Phi Mu sorority little sister.  Well, we are getting closer, nearly 60 days away!  So the final details are being put into place and the final decisions are being made!

Here's the beautiful bride and her husband-to-be, Matt.

And of course, a picture with me!  :-)

You may have read this before (which it's been a while since I did a wedding post) but the Bridesmaid dresses are Alfred Sung in Appletini.... as are the guys ties.

The bridesmaids will not be wearing shoes as this is a beach wedding (location to be announced after the wedding!  But let me tell you, it is GORGEOUS!)

The bride won't be wearing shoes either, but rather...these.

Of course I can't show you the wedding dress (STUNNING!!!!) but I can show you her hair!  After a few trail runs, this is how Ashleigh's up-do will look.  I love it!  Classy and perfect for a beach wedding!

The flower girls are wearing dresses made by me!!  Yes, I am working on them now.
Here is what the finished dress will look like however, it will be lined and covered with a white hibiscus print. It is gorgeous!

 Here's a close-up of the fabric.

And you may remember the trial run dress from this summer.

And here's the Bride with her flower girl!

We are currently working on putting the music together for the wedding and looking for dresses for the rehearsal dinner.
Ashleigh has purchased a few dresses to try and think about.  Here's one of my favorites!

I really want this Bowen dress by Lilly Pulitzer.  I'm having a heck of a time finding it.  Anyone have this in a size 2, I'll be thrilled to buy it from you!

And I'm currently planning the bachlorette party for the end of March!  We are all heading to Matt's parents cabin on the lake for a girls slumber party weekend.  This is exactly what Ashleigh wanted and we are going to sing girly songs, watch SHAG the movie, eat Ashleigh's favorite foods of Mexican and Italian and just have a fantastic time!!  I can't wait to get there and squeeze her.  It's been 14 months since I've seen Ashleigh in person!

Anyways, that is the update for now!

Happy Friday Y'all!

A little inspiration...

I will be quoting this one to myself as go into my third day in a row of working out in Body Back class.  I'm a little sore, but last night, I accomplished something very big (at least for me).  I ran a bridge and kept up with the rest of the crew in my running!  I've never been a runner, it's EXTREMELY challenging for me.  But I pushed and I did it!  And now, I'm not so scared (well....maybe a little) to do it again soon!

In the meantime....crickey triceps!  They are SORE!  No pushups for me tonight!  :-)

All About Kids: Pinterest

Have I told you I'm addicted to Pinterest?  And not only addicted to just pinning, I actually go back and use the pins and act on them!  So rather than blogging, saying I'm going to do something and then forgetting, my pins remind me!  Follow me HERE!

So today, it's All About Kids!  Here are some recent pins and sites I've discovered with quick and easy ideas for the kiddos.

I love this doorway puppet show idea!  How cute!  And when you're done, you just roll it up and put it away.  Lallie loves to play puppets.  We made a show out of a cardboard box a while back, complete with button and puffy paint decor!  Now, I need to find some puppet craft ideas.

And what little girl doesn't LOVE a play tent!  I love this particular tent but am trying to think of a way to make it a tad bit bigger.  Thoughts anyone?  Does anyone have a tent for their child?

What a fun way to make healthy snack eating fun!  And this is perfect as your child can paint and decorate the laundry pins!  I'm definately picking some of these up for this weekend for a craft as it's
supposed to be rainy.

What a FANTASTIC idea for teaching how to tie shoes!  Why didn't I think of this myself!  Another definate for this weekend!

I am constantly stressed about what to put in my child's lunches each day.  Is a point of issue for me and I always feel unprepared, which means that Lallie suffers.  She eats most everything every day, but she needs more variety so she'll experiment more.  She is trying and liking more and more foods everyday, but I could still improve on her lunches.  I love the rubber cupcake holder idea.  Reduce, Reuse, Recyle!

This is a MUST have tutorial in our house considering Lallie thinks she's Rapunzel (you know, blonde hair and green eyes).  We have every shape, size and brand of Rapunzel in Lallie's play room and she plays with them all!  I finally braided her biggest Rapunzel's hair for fear of the below.  We even have a Rapunzel wig that has undergone multiple haircuts.
This site shows how to maintain that crazy doll hair!

What fabulous pins for kids have you found on Pinterest?

Lilly Inspired Stella & Dot Trunk Show (and Vintage Lilly too!)

Last night, I hosted a Lilly Pulitzer inspired Stella and Dot trunk show at my home!  A friend of mine recently became a Stella Stylist and when she mentioned having a Lilly themed party, I jumped at the opportunity!  I decorated the house up in pink and green with appetizers and drinks named after Lilly prints and most everyone who came to the party wore Lilly fashions.

One of my other good friends, who owns a high end vintage shop in my city, brought all her vintage Lilly clothing to the trunk show.  We had a great time trying on and showing off some of the styles.

My particular favorites are from the 60s and 70s.  Paired with some Stella and Dot Chantilly Lace earrings and bracelet, this dress is complete!  The fabric flowed wonderfully and is a fabric that you don't see or feel anymore....very well made. Isn't this gorgeous!

These are my friends, Lindsey and Loren.  Loren (in the pink) owns the vintage shop and specializes in Chanel, Pucci and Lilly among other designer brands.

We had so much fun trying on all the jewelry with our Lilly fashions.  One of my favorites is the necklace in the very front with the turquoise, the Bamboleo Necklace.  Paired with the Ciara Tunic in Shorely Blue Bellina, it looks like it's meant to be part of the tunic!  A little extra flair for a night out on the town.

All the appetizers were named after current Lilly prints.

My good friend, Candi, over at Keene in the Kitchen made these amazing cake pops!!  The pink ones were Key Lime flavored with the exact lime color inside.  The flower ones were strawberry.  The were simply scrumptious and the hit of the party for sure!  I named them after the Bloomin Cacoonin print.  How appropriate!

For drinks, I made two very girly and frilly drinks, alcohol optional.  The Lilly Lemonade was mostly pink lemonade with a little corona for spritzer and a tiny bit of vodka.  The Toucan Tango was a mix of cranberry and pineapple juice with the choice to add champagne if so desired.  They were both quite yummy.

And of course, can't have a Lilly party without some pink and green decor!  These two pictures came from
L Whelan Design on Etsy.  The smaller picture was printed from Pintrest somewhere, I cannot remember where and I stuck it in one of my pink and green frame.  Just a little extra touch!

If there is one thing I love planning, it's a pink and green Lilly party!  I hope you enjoyed viewing all the pictures (and a big thanks to Nina for taking them!!)

PS - If anyone is interested in purchasing any Stella & Dot to match their Lilly fashions....email me at slpreppy@gmail.com.  I'll be happy to have some credit from your sale!  :-)

Hello! I am alive and well!!

Hello, hello!  Yes, I am alive and well and getting quite a bit of lip from Husband, Ashleigh and various other people for my severe lack of posts!  I have good excuses, I promise (i.e. work, sick, home improvements, yadda yadda).  But I'm told "no excuses!"

Anyhow, a few weeks ago, Husband pulled the boat off the lift and out of the water for annual maintenance.  Last weekend, before we put it back on the lift, we took a short ride as it was a gorgeous 75 degree January day and Lallie just loves being outside.

Husband picked us up at the dock at the water entrance to the house where our lift is located.  Lallie played on the playground at the park for a little while before jumping aboard the boat.

Lallie and the captain!

Stay tuned tomorrow for a very special recap of a Lilly themed trunk show I'm having at my house tonight!!

Happy Monday Y'all!
