Bachlorette Weekend

When I started planning Ashleigh's bachlorette party weekend, all the bridesmaids and I were discussing having it in Nashville.  We planned to rent a hotel room and a limo and bounce around town for an entire weekend.  As fun as that sounds, we aren't "that" young anymore (ehem) and Ashleigh, honestly is not a party girl (in the bar hopping sense, anyways).  None of us are really for that matter!  Not to mention the costs and everything involved.
Friday night, ready to party!  (It was SO cold in the Palm Beach airport, I had to buy a sweatshirt!)
So after some brainstorming (and after a very generous offer from the groom's parents), we were given a weekend at a condo Lake Cumberland for free (thank you groom's parents!).  I flew into Cincinnati on Friday afternoon, was picked up by Stephanie (who lives there), and drove down to Lake Cumberland meeting up with the rest of the girls.

Amanda had purchased ALL the food and drinks we could possible need.  The menus were laid out in advance with breakfast and lunches being simple eggs and sandwiches.  And the dinners were Mexican and Italian (Ashleigh's two favorites!)  We had margaritas Friday night and Pink Panty Pull-Downs on Saturday night and in between meals we ate and ate and ate and ate!

It was basically a slumber party.  We all sat around in sweats and PJs, painting our fingernails, eating, watching movies, going for walks, eating, staying up REALLY late, watching basketball, opening presents, eating, playing Wii, eating and singing karaoke (and eating if I forgot to mention it).  We also managed to have some drinks in there somewhere too.

So here are some pictures from the weekend. Ashleigh gets married in ten days and I can't wait to get there and start off the festivities!!!

Jenny doing Amanda's nails in Louisville colors.
Just Dance on Wii (Shelley just couldn't wait for a controller).
Our craft, redneck wine glasses.  Made with a short candlestick glued to a mason jar and then decorated with nail polish.

Practicing the wedding hair.
On a walk at Lake Cumberland (which looks more like a river to me).  Note to self:  when you come upon a goose on top of a nest and it starts to hiss at you....run away.  Run away fast.

Ahh....and the infamous basketball game.  Half of us were Kentucky fans with the other half Louisville fans.  Ashleigh is a die-hard Clemson fan (and not a basketball lover) so she remained neutral.  Here we are nice and composed.

And here we are, not so composed with Ashleigh being the neutral zone.  We call this "A Lake House Divided."

I promise we were cordial during the game!  We actually had a lot of fun (thank you Ashleigh for letting us watch the game!!)

We got our unibrows on!

And here's Ashleigh.....

Actually, Ashleigh had quite a show watching us, watching the game.  At one point, I'm pretty sure Jenny truly thought she was Michael Kidd-Gilcrist and was blocking the ball.

It was a fabulous weekend, exactly what Ashleigh intended and requested.  We also had a lingerie gift opening (which I promised I wouldn't post until after the wedding) and Jenny also practiced Ashleigh's hair for the wedding (again, not to be posted).  She had so much fun at her one and only bachlorette party/weekend and is so excited that the big day is finally here!

Happy Wednesday Y'all!

  1. Sounds like my kind of weekend. My friend Kathleen did a similiar bachelorette party but I think they went out one night.
I did a day wine trip tour and then everyone hung at my house.
We're too old to be running around at bars. Not fun anymore!
