My blogger friends, that is!
So, I've received tons of awards across the past 1 1/2 years of blogging, but very rarely post about them. It's not that I don't appreciate it, I just can't seem to remember.
BUT....lately, three of my favorites have given me awards and since they all have the same rules, I can ac\cept all three with one round of duties!
Pink Preppy Lilly Lover and Cool Gal over at It's the World I Know both awarded me with the Versatile Blogger Award. I guess it's because I talk about everything and haven't really stuck to one particular theme. I think that's what keeps you (my readers) coming back. Maybe, hope, wishful thinking? VA Gal over at Beyond the Blue Ridge awarded me the Sugardoll award (isn't that cute....sugardoll?)
You should stop over and visit all three. They are all very different, but equally lovely!
So, ten things about me that you may or may not know about me. Hmmmm.
1) I am a classically trained violinst from the age of three. Have performed in orchestras in the midwest and traveled in Europe my senior year of college. I still play at weddings/receptions etc., but not as often as I used to. This is a bad picture of me. Perfomring is not the most attractive stature plus I'm outside and my hair is frizzy. But still....I like the picture.
2) I despise melons. All of them. Cucumbers, watermelons, cantelope, honey dew. Anything related. If I am entrusted with fruit salad for a party, I will make two, one with melon and one without (as I hate the taste of melon on other foods). This upsets Husband because a) it costs too much to make and b) I usually leave one at home accidentally leaving it to rot. Yuck. As payback, Husband has decided to tell Lallie I love melon thereby having her force feed it to me. What? So I'm going to tell my picky three-year old that I don't like something. It's VERY hard to stomach.
3) I do not like sea creatures. They are in the water and humans are on dry land as the good Lord intended. We are not too mix. If we're at the beach and a school of fish comes near, I jump up on Husband telling him to get me out. The one time I actually felt comfortable standing in a school of fish, sharks were coming right towards us. Humans and the sea don't mix!
(I do love to go boating though.)
4) I am very hard on my nails. I bite, chew, pick. I am trying REALLY hard to stop this habit and have beautiful nails. I have been using LUSH Lemony Flutter cuticle cream (a/k/a the Wonder Stuff) and have been evening, smoothing, buffing and shining my nails. So far I'm doing well and actually look like I might have pretty natural nails and cuticles very soon! Yay me!
5) I despise clutter. Our house does not have clutter. The toaster is tucked away and not on the counter, the magazines are hidden in a cubby and decor is actually quite sparse. We like it that way. However, if you open up any drawer in the house, be forewarned, it will be one of many junk drawers.
6) I am a sucker for "as seen on tv" things
Pillow-Pet (ooo, Lallie would love one)
tupperware on a turntable (actually have it)
top 40 hits from 1980 from Time Life (I reallly need that for my collection
SpaceSaver bags (abso-freakin-lutely - love them!)
Ginsu knives (oh! yes please)
holiday light tester (sign me up, darn tree lights!)
Hercules hooks (where's the credit card?)
***You think that is bad. QVC and HSN are on permanent ban in our household per Husband
7) I know how to repair a roof of most types better than the average man. Husband can attest as I severly embarrased him in Home Depot one day when I reminder him to get the mesh he needed for a tar repair to flashing around our chimney.
8) I am a CVS super shopper. I rarely spend more than $20.00 usually saving up to $40 or $50 between coupons, BOGO and Extra bucks - on each trip (unless on prescriptions).
9) I love PEEPS! I wish they were sold all year round. Probably a good thing they're not.
10) I despise "friend drama." It needlessly stresses me out, makes me feel down on myself and makes me question relationships. This is why I hesitate to get close to anyone. I have lots and lots of friends, none of them know me inside out (if you've ever done a personality study, the DISC one, I am a D at work and an I at home - describes me perfectly!). The few times I have gotten close to anyone, I've been either let down or the relationship has been destroyed over something so petty and stupid, it wasn't worth it.
I just wanna have fun gosh darnit! Leave the drama to my marriage! LOL!!
So, the ten bloggers I'll pass these awards onto are:
Great post!! Congrats on your awards!! I am a sucker for the tv stuff too...I have the space saver bags...and a couple of work-out dvds :)
ReplyDeleteAHHH I am SO excited to hear you're a violinist!! I played from age 5 to 11, but sadly gave it up for dance. I really wish I still played.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I bet some of my Junior Leaguers went to Area III! I haven't heard if any did, but I would guess so. Hooray for Junior League! Love it :)
VERY COOL things I learned abt ya!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday friend! xx
Awww, thanks for the award, darling! I loved reading more about you and it will be such fun to play along... as soon as I get a chance! (Pinky promise!) Have a lovely evening!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Mister Steamy? I want that!
ReplyDeleteAw - thanks for the mention! And interesting stuff. I struggle with the friend drama issue, too. My work is major drama, so I try not to have much of that outside. And I love that you're a violinist! That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! on the awards.
ReplyDeleteI hate to be in the water when fish are near me too.
I love HSN and QVC! Totally addicted. Oh and peeps too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the awards. I also have been a very, very bad blogger and have been forgetting to pass them on. Hope everyone forgives me. :-(
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you know how to work CVS. I'm also a big couponer - I save a minimum of 50% at CVS, Publix, and Walgreens. Maybe I'll blog about it one day. :-) Have a great weekend! XOXO
Thanks for the award, and I will definitely play along when I get a chance, this week has been crazy. My heart rate has definitely gone up a tad. It was great learning more about you. I am a cvs super shopper too, also dislike clutter and can relate to the friend drama. It's hard to find what I like to refer to as unconditional friends. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sweet award! I'll have to start brainstorming!
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny!
ReplyDeleteI do not like sea creatures, either, or lake creatures for that matter. In fact, I'm deathly afraid of fish (One of the things I posted about myself.). The one time I went snorkeling (had a few margaritas in me), I rode my husband's back. When a "beautiful" school of fish came our way I jumped off his back and swam as fast as I could to the dock. Thought I was going to die right on the spot.
Can't stand "women drama." I've said to my husband many times that I get along much better with men. What is it with that anyway?
Clutter...don't even get me started. I'm starting to sweat just thinking about it.
By the way, you look beautiful in that first photo. Such pretty eyes.
It was fun getting to know more about you.
Hope you're having a great weekend!
