So, just how bad in shape am I?

So, I started Body Back last night and it’s not even 24 hours later and my shoulders, rear and thighs are screaming at me “why did you do that to me?”

I have to mimic athena in the middle in her post today.  I’m inclined to just give up, go back to wearing my sweat pants and sitting around eating junk and skipping meals, like I always do.  But not this time.  I am determined and I will stick with it!

As part of the program, they gave us sample menus and recipes and ways to eat and choose healthier foods along with a food journal.

My initial thought was …. oh no, another complicated meal plan with no options for a working mom.  Everything is going to have a million weird ingredients that you can only buy at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s (which we have to travel 30 minutes to an hour for either of them).

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy these recipes are and was even more pleased to find the “grab and go” section and the restaurant choice sections.  All in all, there are 30 each of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices!  I will make a concerted effort to try some and that includes (drum roll please)…..EATING BREAKFAST!

Yes, sadly, I do not eat breakfast and haven’t for years.  It’s a tough habit to break and I know these first couple weeks will leave me sick to my stomach (literally), but

I will…

I will…

I will…

…eat breakfast (and maybe Lallie will fall in step behind because she is just like me in this area, unfortunately).

Okay, on to my dismal stats:

Plank:  Held for 25 seconds

Side Bridge:  Held for 45 seconds

Push Ups: 5

Sit Ups: 3

Jump Rope: 1 minute 15 seconds

Bicep Curls:  35

Squats:  33

1/2 mile run:  5 minutes 28 seconds (and I walked for 1/4 of this….give me a break, I’m getting over bronchitis!)

I’ll spare you the weight, chest, hip information….I’ll just give you updates as to what I’ve lost each Tuesday!

So, here I go.  Workouts with the group each Monday night and Thursday morning.  Three 20 minute DVD workouts throughout the rest of the week and re-vamping my eating habits.

Cheer me on!

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

  7. Yay You! I've been on the getting healthy band-wagon since October. I can tell you... the first month is the worst. After that it is not as difficult! I love Wii Fit and just plain old walking also... Keep up the good work!
