I feel pretty....

I am not an icon of trendy fashions, though I am a "wanna-be." What can I say, I'm cheap, out for a good deal and I truly do hate shopping for clothes (what is WRONG with me?). I take that back, I don't hate shopping, I hate shopping without a point. I don't wander aimlessly around the mall for no reason. I usually have money to spend and an idea in mind.

As a side note, I did go with Stuart and Hollon to the mall this weekend, with a point, to buy a new pair of black sandal heels, buy some bras and get a new black short sleeve cardigan at Ann Taylor. I had a point. Anyways, why I dislike the mall? There are just some weird people there, just for the sake of being there, without a point...which is exactly my point.

But I digress, the things I love include, Vera Bradley, Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, J. Crew, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, Coach, shoes of any type (as long as they are made well, I love Jimmy Choo's though don't have any) and anything brightly colored with a monogram. So, when I physically drive in a car to go shopping, I have these things in mind, go straight to the stores and racks that have what I desire, shop my desires, try-on and go home. Most of the time, I don't have to go to the store, I get to go to the neat downtown Stuart shops where shopping actually is a pleasure. I don't spend time looking around American Eagle, the Gap or some of these other name brand stores that are currently holding onto dear life with the recent economy (I mean, I can understand why. The second the economy took a turn for the worse, these stores clearly started making cheaper quality clothes that fall apart the first time in the washing machine).

I love outlet stores especially the outlets in Vero Beach. Now, those I can shop, again, keeping to my brands of choice and the kids clothes, Carters, Gymboree, Children's Place (which has cheap but adorably cute clothes).

I do a lot of on-line shopping and browsing, making wish-lists and desperately wishing I had the money to buy that new gorgeous Classic White Shifty for Fifty print Lilly Pulitzer for $350.00. Click here to see the dress. But, again, we're buying a house and even without buying a new house, I'm cheap. So I surf ebay and for $10.00 (plus shipping), I bought a "who knows how many seasons ago", NWT (new with tags if you're not familiar with the lingo), Lilly Pulitzer lime green and white fish/turtle/shell print dress. It fits FABULOUS and I absolutely feel pretty with my coral short sleeve Ann Taylor cardigan (from the outlet), my pretty white shoes and pearls.

(I couldn't figure out how to use the self timer to take a picture of the whole dress, which is fine with me, I just wanted to show the pattern)

Who says that looking pretty (I take that back) feeling pretty (because I may not look pretty to the outside viewer) has to cost a fortune. At least my husband doesn't think so, and he's the only one that matters to me!

  1. Too funny!! I was on eBay last night looking at Lilly!
    Yay on your great deal!!

    I went to the ONLY dept. store that sells Lilly yesterday {as I flew through the town taking my mom to get her car from the shop- I couldn't NOT run in real quick!!}

    I am blown away at how expensive her clothes are. I wish my name was Lilly Pulitzer:) I have found a few things I NEED! If I can figure out the Polyvore, I am going to do one & post it!

    Have a great day!!
