Cutest Blog Award

Heather over at Mint Juleps & Magnolias awarded me the Cutest Blog Award! Thanks Heather. I have known her for since college, we were sorority sisters and she was my Phi director when I first pledged. We have reconnected through blogging, and have actually gotten to know each other a little better since college.

The rules are to list seven things about yourself and then pass on the award to others. So, here it goes:

1) I am a classically trained violinist and have played for 28 years. Unfortunately, I do not practice and play nearly as often as I should, but I haven't lost the love of it. I have traveled through much of the US and traveled to Europe in 1999 to perform with the college choir. My violin was made in 1776 (the same year as the Declaration of Independence) and is Flemish made. Interesting huh! To think of it's history and where it's been, really sparks the imagination.

2) I am extremely clusmy! I run into walls, trip over everything, will drop the same item 5 times in a row before getting a grip on it. I usually ask for my clumsiness by doing stupid things: when I was 13, I thought it would be fun to try standing on a basketball to balance... didn't turn out well. So, if you ever see me laying out by my pool, you will notice the huge amounts of bruises all over me. Husband and friends look past them because they think they're permanent.

3) I am a busy body. Currently, I am working full-time, blogging for both myself and a private blog for my daughter's school that is starting next week, involved in Junior League, church, the DAR and maybe Phi Mu Alumnae (if I have time), I make grosgrain ribbon topiaries to sell, I love to read and I have lots of TV shows that I watch (Fringe, Lost and most recently, Flash Forward and Glee). Somewhere in there, I clean the house, do the laundry, play with my daughter quite a lot really, spend time with husband and swim (not necessarily in that order and daughter and husband are priorities!). Whew! I am definitely a type A personality!

4) My husband and I are Ky Wildcats fans through and through and of course, that is where we were both born. Our daughter however, was born in Florida. Husband asked the dr. if we could have some Ky soil shipped down for the c-section surgery to be put under the table, so she would be born over Ky ground and therefore, be a Kentuckian! Unfortunately, they would not agree. As long as she doesn't become a Gator, we're good.

5) I LOVE my job, I am a full-time working mommy and it works for my family. We are good Christian people and some SAHM's (not any people that read this blog though, no worries) look down on us for it. I tell them I am a better mommy (or daddy) and person and our daughter is and will be a better person because of this arrangement. Our family works, we're well adjusted and Lallie is a very happy little girl. So there (lighthearted! ;-)

6) I have BG syndrome. This has to do with my damaged right hip. I'm still not ready to tell you what BG syndrome is, but if you can guess it, I'll go ahead and divulge. Again, it hurts, but at the same time, it's funny. My physical therapist told my husband that he's not allowed to make any "tight a*#" remarks, if that gives you any clue! :-)

7) Last but not least, I love pink and green....surprise, surprise (I couldn't think of anything else!)

How's that for some light reading, eh?

Have a great day!
